The Amazing Waterfront Train House
Bonners Ferry, Idaho, United States 83805
3 bedroom, 2 bath, sleeps 8, waterfront, fire pit, mooring buoy, huge views
Sandpoint, train town USA, welcomes you with open arms. With huge views in almost every direction and a gigantic softly sloped shoreline, this is the perfect place to spend your summer vacation in Sandpoint.
Moor your boat on the sturdy mooring buoy just off-shore, build a fire in the lakeside fire pit, make a drink, sit and listen to the trains rumble by while you watch one of the best sunsets you will find in Bonner County...."The Perfect Night."
This newly remodeled lakefront home offers you the convenience of being a short drive or boat ride to town, while giving you the relaxing feeling of being away from it all.
The views from here are second to none. You will be able to see West, North and even some to the South. Sandpoint is perfectly framed by the mighty Selkirk Mountains, with Schweitzer Mountain ski resort directly above town. If an unlikely summer storm rolls through, this is where you will want to be. You will see it draw up the Pend Oreille River, turn North around the Selkirk Mountains and move towards Canada, often only catching a few sporadic rain drops from the edge of the clouds as you watch an exhilarating lighting show.
For those who love trains, there is no better property. The South end of the train bridge makes landfall just North of the house and the tracks wind through the back part of the property. You can wave to the conductor while watching the "train art" rolls by. It's like a private, ever changing, mobile art show in your backyard. The trains move relatively slowly through the property and only blow a whistle if they see a car on the tracks. The train tracks cross the driveway at a private/uncontrolled crossing, so you will want to make sure your little ones are not running around up there unsupervised.
Boating from this house is perfect! You can be to Sandpoint in a matter of minutes for; a quick lunch, an evening drink, some groceries, a game of tennis at the city beach, or a nice stroll through town. Want to listen the The Festival from your boat while sipping on wine and eating cheese and cracker? You can be there in about 5 minutes. The waterfront resorts on the lake are all are short boat ride away.
